Dr. Kjeldgaard

Orthopedic & Spine Specialist


Dr. Larry M. Kjeldgaard, founder and owner of Cervical Spine Center in Hurst, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of the spine, neck and back. He uses a variety of non-operative, minimally invasive and complex spinal procedures to improve his patients’ lives. When possible, he prefers to take a conservative approach to treatment that produces the best results and the least invasive. He works to help patients to return to their normal, everyday activities as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Dr. Kjeldgaard is a passionate orthopedic surgeon who is driven to provide the best care. He has trained for many years to gain the skills and knowledge to effectively treat his patients’ spinal conditions and ailments. A graduate from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Kjeldgaard completed his residency at the Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg, PA, and his orthopedic surgery residency training in Pontiac, Michigan. He’s a member of American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and Texas Osteopathic Medical Association.

Richard Smith

Physician Assistant


Richard L. Smith is a graduate of the Baylor College of Medicine’s Physician Assistant program. Richard has over 5 years of experience in neurosurgical and orthopedic medicine and uses it to assist Dr. Kjeldgaard in both the clinic and the operating room during surgery.

Mr. Smith prides himself on his familiarity with every aspect of orthopedic medicine, especially procedures relating to spine care.

Brian Read

Director of Physical Therapy


Brian Read is the Director of Physical Therapy at Trinity Orthopedics. He has been working with Trinity Orthopedics since 2006, with several years of experience beforehand. The bulk of his experience has been in orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal therapy.

His interest in physical therapy stems from his love of sports as well as his love of helping people reach the level they want to function at. Brian enjoys participating in triathlons and cheering on his beloved Tennessee Volunteers. He is married and has three sons
